Lavon EDC Gateway to East Texas

July 2015 Completion of Lavon Business Park Phase II, 11 + acres Ready for Development.

August 9th 2015

Partnership of two Lavon property owners (John Main and DPB Investments) and the Lavon Economic Development (LEDC) allowed a public sanitary sewer line to be extend into the Lavon Business Park in Phase II providing commercial development interests with a total of 11 plus acres fully development with a concrete road (Lavon Circle), 8  inch water lines and an 8 inch sewer line.  John Main had completed the concrete road and water lines needed to attract M-Texas Industrial Supply at no cost to the community.

To be competitive with the surrounding communities and to attract retail and other commercial interests to the area, public sanitary sewers are esstential. The Lavon Economic Development Corporation provided a grant of $9,667 and DPB investments provided a grant of $9,667 for the Lavon Business Park Phase II.  John Main provided a total contribution of $16,676 for the Lavon Business Park Phase II.   The properties involved with the Lavon Business Park have remained undeveloped for a number of years.  To encourage development, the LEDC brought to the table funds to encourage the completion of the sanitary sewer line and DPB investments provided the sewer easements and an additional grant of funds.

See the photo where LEDC President Kay Wright and Vice President Chris Kane present a check of $19,334  on behalf of the Lavon EDC and DBP investments to John Main who constructed the sewer line as well as contributing the $16,676.

Retail and manufacturing interests have been actively looking at this site since the completion of Lavon Business Park I and now II.  It is expected shortly that buildings will be started on the site.
