Lavon Lake is a jewel of the City of Lavon recreational offerings.  Annually, approximately 4 million visitors make use of Lake Lavon's 38,327 acres. The Mission of Lavon Lake is to supply water to the member cities of the North Texas Municipal Water District; to provide flood control to the Collin, Dallas and Rockwall County areas, and to offer some of the best fishing, camping and boating in Texas.

Lavon Lake has 16 parks, 244 picnic sites, 19 - 4 lane boat ramps, 5 beaches, 71 tent camping sites with water, 167 camping sites with electric and water hook-ups, a handicapped park, and 6 group shelters for large group picnics. There is also a 9 mile equestrian and hiking trail between Brockdale Park and East Fork Park and a primitive trail on 75 acres in Sister Grove Park for hiking and off-road bicycling.

Lake Lavon, Lavonia Park

Lavonia Park: this park is conveniently located off of Lake Road in Lavon. The Park is a US Army Corps of Engineers Park. Park attendant on duty. There is a $4 day use fee for the 51 pcinic sites and ttwo 4-lane boat ramps plus a swim beach.  For Camping there is  38 full hook up/30 amp sites: $30.00/night. Showers available. 15 tent camp sites with water: $14.00/night. Camping fee includes user fee for boat launching and swimming beach use if applicable. Controlled access - Park open year round.

City Of Lavon Parks  

City Hall Park

City Hall Park is a beautiful shaded park with a paved walking trail, great for walking and biking. It is in an ideal location near the historic Lavon City Hall. Home to the City’s favorite special events, the Easter Fun Day and Fall Festival, the park offers a pavilion as well as an updated and maintained playground. If you would like to reserve the pavilion for private events, please contact Lavon City Hall 972-843-4220.

City Hall Community Room

The Community Room at City Hall, formerly the historic elementary school cafeteria, is frequently home to city-sponsored special events and Lavon School reunions.  The Community Room has large windows providing views of the City Hall Park and Pavilion. 

Eagle Pond

Eagle Pond located at Lincoln Ave and Harrison Ln in the Bear Creek subdivision is a haven of tranquility, featuring a pond surrounded by colorful plants and a variety of native trees, shrubs and walking trail. The passive open space is a great place for visitors to enjoy nature. Benches and a doggie waste station are located along the walking trail for visitors’ convenience.
