September 10th 2019

The Lavon Economic Development Corporation after careful study and research recommended to Lavon City Council that they consider an ordinance to exempt from personal property ad valorum taxation, warehouse goods and materials used for and in assembly, storage, manufacturing or fabrication when goods that are within the State of Texas less than 175 days.  This exemption may be applied for through the Collin County appraisal district before April 15th of each year.  Lavon Council approved this ordinance on September 1, 2019.  Most other cities of Collin County also utilize this freeport exemption to attract manufacturing and warehousing businesses.
