July 9th 2017

Celebratiing Revoluntary History in Lavon, the annual John Abston Breakfast on the 4th of July was well attended.  Lavon is the home of Lakeview Cemetary which preserves the burial place of the only Revoluntary War veteran buried in Collin County.  John Abston, after serving in the Revoluntary War brought his family to the Lavon area to settle and begin a farmstead.  The annual 4th of July breakfast is hosted by Charlie Allen who with his fellow chef Kent Hembree serve up a hearty and wonderful pancake and fixins event for families and friends who gather to recognize the historical significance of Veterans who have served to make this Nation a wonderful home.
